Brightshot Photography · South Oxfordshire, on the Thames
Photographer in Wallingford
Wallingford is my kind of town to photograph: a proper riverside market town where the light does half the work for you. The Thames slides past the old bridge, swans drift through the frame without being asked, and in the last hour before sunset the water throws warm light back up at whoever is standing on the bank.
Whether it is a family session on the meadows, couple portraits by the river or a party in a garden marquee, Wallingford shoots barely need staging. We pick a spot, we time the light, and you get photographs that look like a lovely evening rather than a photo appointment.
Where we could shoot
Favourite spots around Wallingford
Castle Meadows
Open meadow with the castle earthworks behind and long grass that glows when the sun drops. Room for kids and dogs to run between frames, which is exactly when the best pictures happen.
The Thames at Wallingford Bridge
The classic view: honey-coloured stone arches, moored boats and reflections on still evenings. Couple portraits here at golden hour need no props at all.
The Market Place
For something more town than country: independent shopfronts, the town hall pillars and tucked-away lanes that suit relaxed, documentary-style portraits.
